The vegetables:

Peel and cut potatoes into chunks.
Peel and cut shallots into julienne.
Cut mushrooms into quarters.

The potato mash:

Place the potatoes in a pot and cover with water. Add a pinch of salt.
Boil for 15 min or until tender when pierced with a fork.
Once the potatoes are cooked, drain and mash with a hand blender (or fork). Add butter and mix well

The stir-fry:

Dissolve broth in 1/3 cup of boiling water.
Heat oil in a frying pan and sauté shallots for about 3 min. Add mushrooms and kale and sauté until golden.
Add broth and allow most of the liquid to evaporate.
Season with salt and pepper. 

The steak:

Heat oil in a frying pan.
Add the meat and season with salt and pepper.
Cook on both sides to the desired point of doneness. 

Your meal:

Serve steaks with stir fry and mashed potatoes.
