Chicken and vegetable wok with hoisin sauce and jasmine rice

A chicken wok is usually a hit for both older and younger members of the family. Remember that the word wok implies that we cook the ingredients at high temperature. The hoisin sauce contributes to the oriental taste and the peanuts are there to add nuance and contrast in the consistency of the dish.

The rice:

Put rice, water and a pinch of salt in a pot.
(2 cups of water for each cup of rice)
Bring to a boil and lower the heat to a minimum.
Boil covered 15 min until the rice has absorbed the water.
Set aside with the lid on. 

El arroz

Mis en place:

Cut pepper into strips.
Cut scallion into 4 cm pieces.
Slice garlic and grate or chop ginger.
Slice chicken.  

The wok:

Heat oil in the wok or frying pan.
Brown chicken on all sides. Set aside.
Brown pepper, chives and garlic. Set aside.
In the empty wok: add hoisin sauce, vinegar, soy and ginger. Let it heat up, add chicken and cook until ready. 

Your meal:

Add vegetables and peanuts to the mix.
Serve with jasmine rice.
